To complete the milling tasks Schick developed a special arm that places the touch spindle and milling spindle side by side. This makes milling a simple task and aids in the precision of the framework. The special milling arm accounts for all the necessary growth factors and gives the technician a clear view of the complete process.

 

 

The Z Solution uses Schick high capacity C3 motor technology, which is also used in the popular Schick S3-Master. The milling spindle is outfitted with a special chuck that offers extreme precision and high torque, to prevent tool slippage. The C3 motor offers full torque throughout all speed ranges, insuring that milling proceeds uninterrupted by the motor bogging down or cutting out. It also runs ultra quiet and vibration free. The milling spindle is specially adjusted for the Z Solution to allow it to run in precise concentricity.

 

In addition to offering smooth operating, the milling spindle and touch spindle both have Schick's patented LED lighting technology integrated into their heads. This directs the light right onto the work area giving the operator a clear view of all areas. In addition the milling spindle has an air blowout facility built directly into the spindle's head to further keep the area clear of debris.

 

 

A dual mounted clamping table is at the heart of the Z Solution. The clamping table is pneumatically fixed and offers smooth 360° movement. The clamping table incorporates suction on all sides of the milling process to help keep the work area free of debris. Furthermore the clamping table is adjustable with the foot switch

 

 

Users can easily choose between the 'comfort mode" or the "individual mode" to decide how they want to operate the unit. When the comfort mode is chosen the motor, blow out facility, lighting and suction on/off are all controlled by the foot switch. By simply depressing the foot switch the unit is ready for milling. However, for those times when you need to operate only certain features the individual mode allows all operations to be controlled independently.    

 

 

The Z Solution incorporates a newly developed suction unit that works in conjunction with the Z1 Milling Unit. The suction unit was designed to handle harsh zirconia dust and built specifically for the Z Solution. It offers optimal suction power to keep the work area clean during the milling process, yet operates at a very low noise level. Its small foot print allows it to fit under a standard workbench. It has a easily removable dust tray that can be emptied as needed and does not require continual changing of the filter system. Once installed you will have direct control from the Z1 Milling Unit, and it is controlled in the various automatic settings the Z Solution offers.

 

 

A fully automated sintering furnace allows for safe firing of the milled frameworks. The furnace maintains the high temperatures required through the use of 4 heating elements. This helps maintain a constant temperature and insure that frameworks are not deformed. It has 1 button technology to start the cycle and for safety the door is electronically locked during the firing process. It has a large capacity that can accommodate multiple pieces of work.

 

 

An absolutely unique workbench can be included with the system, preserving your back and give you the perfect work area to complete your milling. So whether you are small or tall, the table can be raised or lowered electronically using the keypad located under the desktop. The table is robust and solid, able to handle lifting 120 kg (264 lbs). The table has a spacious drawer to store your Z Solution accessories and comes standard with a 1200 X 700 mm (48 X 27 inches) desk top. Specially designed desk tops can be manufactured for a surcharge, with a maximum of 1400 X 800 mm (55 X 32 inches).

 

 

The Z Solution also incorporates other unique components such as the specially designed modeling gel. The Z Solution modeling gel allows the use of one material for all modeling. So there is no need to use a different material for abutments and pontics. Another useful accessory is the Quick Fix Plate, which is used in place of the plastic model plates. It allows for easy and simple fixation of models, up to 4 units. Whether using the plastic model plates or the Quick Fix Plate the metal positioner is the perfect guide to insure that the models are attached to the model plate properly and easily. To finish the system off a cordless UV lamp and a powerful drying lamp both help to complete the necessary tasks.
