Vacalon Flexi-Cast Rings are unlike metal or hard plastic rings, that can restrict the chemical expansion of investment or cause pressure points that lead to stress fractures. They are made from a soft silicone type material that allows for unrestricted, 360° expansion. They are manufactured for years of use and do not become hard or brittle over time. In addition, the investment is extremely easy to remove after the necessary bench set.
Vacalon Flexi-Cast Rings are offered in 1 1/4", 2", 2 1/2" and 3 1/8" diameters, and are all 2 1/8" tall. The larger 3 1/8" diameter ring is perfect for casting long span bridges and is one of the largest ring sizes available on the market today. The funnel shaped base former insures metal will properly flow into the ring and works with most pre-formed sprue systems. In addition, the bases can be easily modified to work with any sprue system.
